dance notes:

Our spring dance concert will be on Sunday, May 26th at Louisville Middle School. The rehearsal will be on Saturday, May 25th. View show order and rehearsal times here.

All of the TAU dance classes are high quality, encouraging students to stretch their abilities, yet respecting their individual rates of development. The TAU dance program offers three main dance options, distinguishable by level of commitment and by levels of ability. All dance classes participate in a Holiday Concert held in December and a Spring Concert, held in May. Fees for the dance concert, costumes, and tickets apply for those participating in the concert.

Studio Classes

Individual classes meet once a week. Each leveled class is designed to be taken for at least a full year before moving on. Instructors vary teaching methods and choreography in order to keep classes fresh and interesting while reinforcing skills. Students may take a single class or as many different classes as they want for a very broad dance background. learn more

Ballet School

New this fall! Students are required to commit to two weekly classes in ballet technique. A rubric of skills must be mastered before students are ready to move on to the next leveled class. Dance form is emphasized in these classes and is designed to build strong ballet skills, including going on pointe on an individual basis at the discretion of the instructor. A theatrical ballet performance is held at the end of the school year, in addition to the TAU Dance Concerts held for all dancers. learn more

Performance Company

Auditions are held to determine eligibility for this group. The Performance Company students are required to take a weekly, 2 hour company dance class along with at least one Studio or Ballet School class. Participation in a competition is an optional offering, with an emphasis on using the experience as a tool for honing performance skills. Students will dance in several local performances, as well as the TAU Dance Concerts. They will also have the option of presenting their routines in a performance at Disney World. learn more
